2 Corinthians 1: 10-11

Have you seen the women left behind on the polygamist compound, in Texas, speaking about their children and their lifestyle? Wow, they seem to be from a different time and place! I hope the state of Texas is fully equipped to take on this massive rescue attempt. Does the state know they'll need the churches of Texas to step up and help with these children and young mothers? Do they understand that these children need to be placed in Christian homes that will give them the familiarity of the good they've received from their upbringing? I know about separation of Church and State, but the good Christians of Texas must be aware that God is calling them to be foster families in the state's system in order to help care for these children. What can we do? We can pray for these young mothers, their children and for the authorities and Christians in the state of Texas to accomplish God's will in this major undertaking. The world's eyes are on Texas right now. Let us pray for this and everything because God is in control.

The CMT Awards program was not as wonderfully inspirational for me as last year's had been. Think it needed Jeff Foxworthy. I really like and admire Billy Ray Cyrus and his talented daughter, but the show was geared to the really young fans and that was a little tough to take. Don't get me wrong, I love Taylor Swift, Kelly Pickler and Carrie Underwood. I wish I had their songs when I was in high school. But, I missed Jeff Foxworthy's humor and insight.

As GMA closes today, I just enjoyed their Breakfast Talk with Robin and three other women. It was fun. I wish I could go with Robin, she's headed to Key West. Ya'll have a great day, luv, Susan

2008 CMT Music Awards

It's really been an awesome week since my trip back to Henderson. Back to reality today as I get my taxes in the mail. Hope everyone else has that taken care of, know it can sure put a damper on everything.

Church was wonderful yesterday, as always. I took a bold step and asked everyone at the Sunday school session of our worship service to check out the CMT Music Awards program that's airing tonight on CMT. I know not everyone gets CMT, but for those who do, I highly recommended it. I've been looking forward to the program since last year's show. I hope all my friends are blessed by what they'll see on it.

Is everyone enjoying all the beautiful spring blooms of trees and flowers? Wow, everytime I go out, I'm just amazed at all the different colors and variations. I've especially enjoyed the purple wildflowers that grow in the fields between Georgetown and Lexington ( and I'm sure elsewhere ). From the distance, the fields look to have patches of purple here and there. Does anyone know what they're called?

You all have a great day, luv, Susan

Dream Ticket

It was a wonderful day yesterday, I turned 52, woohoo!!! I simply opened my arms wide and received my many blessings. I thank some of you for some of those blessings. Many were from friends and family, but most were my unending parade of blessings from God. Actually, I receive them non-stop.

I was looking forward to seeing John McCain on the View. He did a great job. He answered questions even I needed to hear. Joy is is harshest critic on the view and I think she was impressed with him. He is a passionate guy and when he has a point to make......he's going to continue talking til he makes the point. He will make a wonderful president, if given the chance.

I've always admired Colin Powell. He was on GMA today and he is remarkable. Could there be any chance of these two intelligent, compassionate, strong leaders joining together. We'll see.

Have a great day, luv, Susan ps Did you know that John McCain's youngest son has already served in Iraq?

God Wants to Talk to You

Hearing Randy Pausch last night was wonderful. I'm not surprised he was raised by a loving Christian family. I'm also not surprised that he feels it necessary to keep his religion private. Don't most Christians feel a need to back off of others because we might make someone uncomfortable? I understand that Randy wants all to benefit from his insights and doesn't feel he has the time needed to gain the trust of most people to give them the "real" message of true freedom and happiness.

God loves us all so much that He gave His one and only son for us, each and every one of us. He makes it so easy to receive Him into our lives. I guess we all learn, in this world, that if something sounds too good to be true, it isn't true. Well, guess what, the good news about Jesus Christ is just that.

God wants to talk to each of us on a regular basis. We just don't want to listen ( we don't have time, we're too busy, we're trying to make ends meet, we're supporting families, etc.). Didn't He say He would take care of our daily needs if we would simply trust and obey?

Try one simple thing, read the Upperroom on a daily basis. Christians the entire world over get their daily communication from God through this vital instrument of His people. His message in this small daily devotional is always clear and inspiring. (UpperRoom.org) Try it!!!

Have a great day, I know I will. luv, Susan

A Love Lecture for Us

I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather yesterday. I took a walk with my camera. The day before I had seen the cutest sight. Three creamy white calves napping in a bed of bright yellow daffodils....what a picture. Well, I didn't have my camera, so I took the same walk yesterday, the calves were up and around with the other cows, so the picture wasn't available. Some opportunities only come around once.....should have had my camera. But, I still have the precious image in my mind of the three napping calves, just harder to share it.

Something I do want to share is the opportunity to see the most awesome guy. He's Randy Pausch and he's dying of pancreatic cancer. As a college professor, he wanted to give his Last Lecture to his students and make it count. It has been out there on the internet and now ABC is gonna air the entire lecture tonight at 10:00. Please watch, I think you'll be glad you did.

Have a great day, luv, Susan

One Shining Moment

The tournament is over....I was secretly for Kansas, I was, really. My favorite part of the whole three week event is the closing, One Shining Moment, where they show the montage of pictures as the inspirational song plays in the background. Last night, I was not disappointed. I thought I'd catch a glimpse of Joe Crawford or Billy G., I was stunned when I saw Mr. Wildcat on the screen for what seemed like minutes. Of course, it was only a few seconds because the images don't stop, but they really did pause for everyone to see our wonderful Mr. Bill. I've already heard them talk about it on the news.

He did indeed show us all how to behave as Kentucky fans. I'm so sad he's gone, but so pleased to know that such a beautiful person can touch so many lives just by being a really caring person. What an example for us all.

I've gotta go, Rosie's gonna be on GMA. I love Rosie!!! Have a great day, luv, Susan

Is Anyone Out There?

I've been a pest of late "suggesting" to others that recycling aluminum cans should be done everywhere. Homes, schools, churches, it's really not that hard to do and it's beneficial in so many ways.

Natalie Portman was on GMA this morning, she's doing wonderful things, outside of her spectacular acting career, to help others. Specifically, she's spearheading an organization that helps women in underdeveloped countries get started in businesses of their own, to escape their poverty-stricken circumstances. It reminds me of the Bible verse that says, to those who much is given, much is expected in return ( I'll have to look it up. ) Richie Farmer mentioned the same sentiment in his book, and it's no surprise that he's a public servant now.

Haven't we all been given so much here in our country. Clean water, an abundance of food, opportunities galore, the list is unending. Shouldn't we also be expected, in response, to take care of our world, and each other?

I am so grateful that Spring has sprung. I'm gonna go do my taxes. Have a great day, luv, Susan
